15 Easy Wood Projects You Can Do in a Day!

    By Stacy 3 Comments

Looking for a weekend project? I have rounded up 15 of my easy wood projects that anyone can do. I went clear back into the archives of my blog and some of these projects are from when I first started! Even if you are a long time reader, I'm sure there are at least a couple of these you may have missed.

    Shadow Box

I have made several of these but this light green one that use to be above my bed was my favorite. You can display anything from antique teacups to your children's sport trophies.

    Scrap Wood Lamp

I made a tall floor lamp out of scrap 2x4s and 1x4s. I liked it so much I made another scrap wood lamp by cutting circles out with a jigsaw. You can see the full tutorial y clicking the link.

    Wood Tile Serving Tray

I made this simple serving tray  and lined the bottom with wood "tiles". I love it! It is durable and versatile. It is currently in my bathroom holding glass bottles and  my jewelry.

    Wood Star Art

I was part of a challenge to make a knock off project. I chose the Pottery Barn star wall art. It was easy to make and was the perfect Americana touch for my family room.

    Candlesticks

When it comes to easy wood projects, it doesn't get much easier than this! I use these DIY candlesticks all the time. I made a bunch of them and ended up painting some of them gold. They go will all different types of decor.

    Reclaimed Wood Desk

I used reclaimed 2x4s but you can use any kind of boards. It couldn't be easier to build this top and then you just attach the legs! Instant desk!

    Triangle Box For Corner Shelves

If you have corner shelves, you know it can be a challenge to find storage boxes or just about anything to fit right on them. I built this triangle crate that I use for plants and sometimes use for storing extra silverware.

    Wood Slice Shelf

You can pick up these wood slices at any craft store or online. Cut them in half and you have TWO shelves! Check out the tutorial on how to hang them.

    Simple Wood Frame

Only a miter saw or a miter saw box is needed for this project. If you have a print that is an unusual size and you are having a hard time finding a frame to fit, make your own! I promise it is easy :)

    Plant Stand

I have a thing for planters and plant stands. This one couldn't be easier. I like the shiny gold legs but you could paint or stain them however you like.

    Vase with Stand

I had an extra globe light cover and decided to make a base for it. I couldn't decide which idea I liked so I made all three. This one is probably my favorite, but you should check out the others and see if you agree.

    Table Top Easel

We got a Nucleus (an Alexa with a screen)  and wanted to put it in our kitchen. I wanted a a cute way to display it so I made this DIY easel. Now I want to make more and put them all over the house!

    Ombre Pencil Holder

This little pencil holder could hold anything really. It makes a cute addition to any desk!

    Wood Coasters

This is a favorite of all my easy wood projects. I fell in love with wood burning a couple of years ago. I cut these wood slices from a branch from our yard but you can also buy them at craft stores. It would make a fun project for a craft night.

    Mountain Shelf

This was my latest easy wood project. I made a mountain inspired shelf for the gallery wall in my boys' mountain themed bedroom.

I love working with wood! It is a fun medium and it can take on so many forms.
