I have been looking for healthier versions of creamies and popsicles. In the last several months we have become fans of plain Greek yogurt. We use it as a sour cream substitute, in smoothies, and with fruit and granola.
I came up with another way to use it the other day. We made Blueberry Creamies :)
Flavored yogurt typically has a ton of added sugar (even honey flavored). So I used plain yogurt, a little honey to sweeten it, and blueberries.
I added 2 cups of plain Greek yogurt, 1 cup blueberries, and 2 table spoons of honey in the blender. Then I poured it into popsicle molds and froze them until they were hard. This made 6 pops. It will depend on the size of your molds how many you will get.
The thickness of the Greek yogurt makes these super creamy. I have tried freezing regular yogurt in the past and it doesn't have the same texture. And they are really good! But don't just take my word for it........
They were a hit :)

The boys look SOOO happy!
Sounds so cool and yummy AND healthy!!
These sound so good. Do you think frozen blueberries would work as well? Thanks for sharing.
Your boys are so cute. Great - simple - recipe! Thanks. I never thought to make my own frozen yogurt. LOL. It reminded me I have yogurt "cooking" in the oven that I made today that needs to go in the fridge. I think I'm going to have to start writing notes on the backs of my hands. I accidentally left the last batch in the oven for, oh, about 26 hours. Still edible. It's pretty easy to make your own. The only hard part is remembering to go back to it at just the right time to fiddle with it. So easy your boys could make it.
They look yummy and a tasty treat for an ever hopeful dieter
Yum! This looks totally amazing! Pinning this so I can go get some blueberries and try it!
