Pineapple Cheese Ball & A Simple DIY Serving Tray

    By Stacy 4 Comments

    Jump to recipe

There were a few things that my mom made every year around Christmas time. One was her famous caramels, one was a hot citrus drink, and one was this cheese ball. I can't let December pass without making this at least a few times. I usually make a couple at a time because they get eaten so fast!

It is simple to make and is something you can make ahead of time if you need to take a treat to a party or get together.

    Ingredients

    • 16 OZ Cream Cheese (at room temperature)
    • 1 Can (20 OZ) Crushed Pineapple
    • 1 Tablespoon of Chopped Green Onions
    • A Pinch of Garlic Salt
    • 2 cups chopped Walnuts

    Instructions

    1. Mix the cream cheese, pineapple, onions, garlic salt, and HALF of the walnuts together in a bowl. Put it in the fridge until firm. Form it into a ball and then roll it in the other half of the walnuts. Refrigerate again until ready to serve.

I decided to make a simple serving tray for the cheese ball. I took this rectangular platter and used epoxy to attach these cabinet pulls. The hardware was left over from our kitchen cabinets. You can turn any platter into a tray this way. So easy!

Our favorite crackers to eat the cheese ball with are Chicken In A Biscuit, Sociables, Ritz, and Vegetable Thins.

Do you make cheese balls during the holidays? What are your favorite kinds? I would love to try a bunch of new one this year :)

Love the handles you added to the tray! What a great idea that makes such a difference! Now to go and pin your cheese ball recipe because that - and the crackers - look VERY appetizing! :)
