Meet the Blogger {Farmhouse on Boone}

September 27, 2018 By Stacy Leave a Comment

Hey! I am so excited to be sharing over here on Stacy's blog today. I have had the pleasure of meeting Stacy at not one, but TWO, blogger conferences. I remember the first one I was just a shy new-ish blogger, and our mutual friend Cami invited me over to their room to hang out. My first impression of Stacy was that she is HILARIOUS. I was laughing so hard I was crying. Not sure I even said much. I just sat there laughing! Stacy is the type of lady that can do just about anything, build stuff, decorate, DIY anything, garden and preserve the harvest. She is one go-getter! The makeover she recently did in her boys' room made me wish I knew how to wield a … {READ MORE}

Steam Clean the Bathroom

September 25, 2018 By Stacy 122 Comments

This post and giveaway are sponsored by HomeRight. When I think of Fall, I think of leaves changing colors, pumpkins, canning vegetables from my garden, and.... deep cleaning! The cleaning bug starts to bite when the kids go off to school. After the kids have been home all summer making messes, it is nice to get things all scrubbed. When I think of deep cleaning, I immediately think of my SteamMachine! It is so nice to steam clean the house from top to bottom. One of my favorite places to steam clean is in the bathroom. First of all because it has loads of germs and also because there are a ton of nooks and crannies that are hard to clean with anything else. I start with the sink. … {READ MORE}

Our Happy Place is Burning {Wildfires in Utah}

September 15, 2018 By Stacy 28 Comments

If you know me at all, even a little bit, you know my love for the mountains runs deeps. My appreciate for nature is intertwined into every aspect of my life. How I spend my weekends, where we vacation, how I decorate our home. Even the topic I chose for my book (Natural Accents).  I've been visiting these mountains by our house my entire life. They are my view outside my windows. Of all the mountains in Utah, the mountains directly in front of our house are the greenest. It probably annoys Shane, but every single time we drive along I-15 which runs parallel with the mountain range, I comment about how our mountain, our peak, is the prettiest. One thing I am proud of is that I have instilled … {READ MORE}

Fall Mantel {Pink and Magenta!}

September 11, 2018 By Stacy 9 Comments

The leaves have just started to change color in the mountains near our home. We took some time this weekend to drive up and gather some leaves. I had already picked up some mums and white pumpkins at the nursery so I threw together a Fall mantel. A huge shout out to Krista for organizing this Fall mantel blog hop. I love seeing the different ways people decorate for Fall!     Aside from the inexpensive mums and pumpkins, I used things I already had on hand. I usually grow pumpkins too but didn't this year for some reason. I just shop my house for baskets and pillow covers. Sometimes it pays to be a hoarder ;)     I take that back, I also got this … {READ MORE}

Pulling Things Together {Coral & Gray Teen Room}

August 28, 2018 By Stacy 5 Comments

Have you ever started a project and then lost steam or got stuck on what to do next? I think we have all been there. This weekend I was able to step in and help pull all the details together to give my niece a fresh new room! When my sister got remarried and bought a new house, my niece picked out new bedding and bought a side table at the thrift store. She started collecting things to hang on the wall. That is as far as she got. A year later, the side table was still unfinished, the hand me down bed from her older brother was still chipped, and nothing was on the wall. My assignment from HomeRight for my sponsored post this month was "Furniture Makeover". This room was perfect for … {READ MORE}

Visiting the California Coast {Must See Places}

August 20, 2018 By Stacy 15 Comments

Things have been a bit slower on the blog this summer. I've tried not to stress about it too much. It is hard to balance work and play when the kids are home. Speaking of summer, we had the opportunity to drive up the California coast over the course of a week and a half for our family vacation. You may remember that 4 years ago we took our first official family vacation. Our "vacations" in the past consisted of visiting family and camping. We loved that HWY 101 trip so much that we did it again! We changed it a bit because this time (instead of just northern California and Oregon) we did most of California. If visiting the California coast is on your bucket list, I am going to share the … {READ MORE}

The Sofa Saga

August 4, 2018 By Stacy 11 Comments

Sofa, couch, whatever you call it, mine had seen better days. I am not sure what the average lifespan of a sofa is but ours started to give up the ghost years ago. This sofa was 14 years old. Shane was still finishing up his architecture degree and we really couldn't afford a leather couch but when we were looking we found one on clearance. The middle slat of the frame had broken so we got it for a song. I sandwiched the broken piece between two 1x4s and secured it with long screws. It worked great! Fast forward to a few years ago... The brown leather sofa started to show its age. Holes started forming and the fabric portion of the seats ripped. The center board broke again when about a … {READ MORE}

15 DIY Planters You Can Make in a Day!

July 30, 2018 By Stacy 4 Comments

It's no secret that I am a full blown plant lady. I love having lots of plants inside and out. Maybe that is why I have so many planter tutorials on my site! I am going to share my favorite DIY planters from over the past few years. All of them you can do in a day! Wood Bead Planter What is better than a planter? A hanging one! This was such a fun project! You can see the full tutorial HERE.     Mason Jar Wall Planter This project I created on a whim YEARS ago and it is my most pinned and my most copied project. Just for clarification, these are not herbs. I know it has been shared all over the interweb as an "herb planter" but those are houseplants. I do not … {READ MORE}
