Like most things in our life, my husband and I approach things differently when it comes to choosing a wall color.....
There is no wrong way to go about it. I would love to hear how YOU pick what color to paint your walls. Do you base it off of fabric? Or what your favorite color is? Please let us know how you chose AND what your favorite wall color is :)

Oh I'm totally laughing. We are in the process of picking colors for our new house. I have had many a discussion with the hubs on cool browns, warm browns, cool grey & warm grey. Ahhhh- he wants to mix them & can't understand why certain ones can't go together. Suppose he needs to go take color theory :) It's funny how they view things. He thinks that just because it's grey it's automatically cold & drab. He doesn't understand that it doesn't have to be that way.

Sometimes I get annoyed when my husband has all these opinions but then I realize I am glad he cares enough about it to have them! But yes, my hubby needs a lesson in color theory as well :)

We will be painting our open layout kitchen/dining/living room PERFECT GREIGE by SW. My office will be a pretty yellow! We are using our furniture (French Country Blue) as accents therefore we need a neutral backdrop. I love all the popular greys but find it difficult to leave my traditional roots. That is why we choose the Perfect Greige, it's grey and beige!!!!

Our family room has been painted yellow for several years, and I haven't grown tired of it yet. I don't really understand the love affair with grey these days. It has always seemed like a gloomy color to me, especially if you live in an area that seems to be grey outside much of the winter. I guess if it leans more toward silver or blue, it would be pretty. I'm planning to go with a warm white on all my walls soon with lots of stained wood accents throughout the house.

hi jeanine-grey is big these days but it is a fun color to work with. Some clients cringe when I saw grey and then I show them how it can look. they are always happy with the outcome, if done right, grey is actually pretty bright color, obviously if you don't do the darker hues that are almost black. here is a link to my gray board on pinterest http://www.pinterest.com/stagingchicago/gray/

I don't have any one way to choose colors. We are redoing our whole house, with currently white walls (boring). For the master bath / bed he wanted a deep red/burgundy color to dominate, so we looked at paint chips and picked one we liked and added a tan to go with it. The red is on the bottom half and the tan on top, with white trim, baseboard and crown molding, the décor is Victorian. For the front bath, I am taking a different approach. I have a straw hat hanging on the wall on which I have pinned the corsages from both my sons' weddings, one in cream, one in light peach. I will take the peach corsage in to have paint tinted to match. We want green in the living room. Light yellow in the kitchen. The guest room, all I know is I want to have a 40s flair as it will be housing my parents bedroom set (they married in 1942). My sewing room? I have no clue yet. Sigh.
