I wasn't going to do any home tours this Fall. I swore I was going to just focus on preserving the food from the garden and plug along with packing away my kids' summer clothes but when Courtney asked me to be a part of this fall blog hop I kind of had to say yes. Talented bloggers and beautiful decor.....Okay, I will do it! Twist my arm why don't you ;)
So welcome to the Balsam Hill Fall blog hop! Shirley from Housepitality Designs was the stop before me. If you missed hers, make sure and head over there after you check out my space.
I have a confession to make. I have never had a love affair with orange. I don't necessarily have a favorite color. I just sort have rotated through all of them at one point in time....except orange. BUT, while I don't like orange in home decor on a day to day basis, I LOVE Fall. Maybe orange is special. So special that it only should be taken out for this one time a year occasion. I also think I like it at autumn time because of the other colors it is paired with. The fact that red bleeds into coral and orange blends with yellow and there are hints of green still present, make it more soothing. So I guess you could say that while orange is not my favorite color, Fall is :)
I also recently saw an orange wreath on a cobalt blue door on Pinterest and was instantly obsessed with the color combination. Since I happen to have plenty of cobalt in my house, it was meant to be!
The frame I made recently was perfect for this leaf the kids and I found on our hike the other day.
Another confession.... I couldn't find an orange pillow so I used a cardigan of mine to cover an old pillow. A few tucks, tie the arms together, and there you have it!
The leaves we collected this year were ridiculous! They were the perfect blend of all the Fall colors. Even though they don't last more than a week or two in the vases of water before they dry out and curl, It is so worth it! I just think of them as flowers. And for the leaves that are not in a vase, I recommend those plastic water tubes that are normally used on cut flowers. They are SUPER cheap. You can get a small pack at Walmart for about $2 or a 100 pack on Amazon for around $15. (affiliate link)
What is better than blue and orange? Blue, orange, and gold!
The twig pumpkins are not only adorable as-is, but they light up! They have tiny led lights all over and a small battery pack to power them.
If you read my blog at all, you know I am obsessed with baskets and bins. I love this one I found that had leather handles and a blue stripe! It screamed my name. Even my husband couldn't deny it.
The items I used from Balsam Hill were:
Fall Berry Wreath Golden Pillar Candlesticks (set of 3) Twig Pumpkins
Have you decorated for Fall yet? Or do you wait and decorate for Halloween instead? And just for kicks, what are your thoughts on Orange?
The next stop on the tour is Pamela at From My Front Porch. And you can also visit the bloggers from day one below.

I love the cobalt blue and orange!....In my very early days of decorating...the color of rust was very popular....I am so dating myself! ... and I accented my sofa of a rust color with navy....I so love the pops of orange in the room...so Fall Chic! Had to chuckle about the sweater pillow...it looks great!...Love how you so beautifully incorporated the beautiful items from Balsam Hill into your decor in the family room. The Berry wreath makes such a beautiful statement on the window....Happy Fall Stacy!!

Hi, you know I hear ya about Orange I've not been a big fan, I look terrible in Orange maybe that's the reason but a few years ago I had a lot of turquoise, still do but when I paired it with some orange florals it was such a winning combo and I pleasantly surprise myself and I noticed lots of orange popping up again this year in my decor...your house is beautiful. and yes I do decorate for Halloween in Oct then transition into fall for November.

Stacy, I have to agree. Orange is my least favorite color but this year I'm using it more and more. It is such a nice warm color against blue and I LOVE that wreath. It looks perfect there. So glad you took part, packing up kids clothes can wait 'til next month ;)

Love the color story you chose! Don't you just love the twig pumpkins!? I did not realize that are on a timer. It is nice to not have to worry about turning them on and off.

That orange berry wreath... be still my heart!
I don't use orange any other time of year either, but it's a MUST for autumn. There's a lot of pyracantha in my neighborhood and it's the visual definition of autumn to me. I love oranges with lots of other warm red, rusty, and golden autumn colors.
