The Easiest Way To Paint Ceilings and Walls

    By Stacy 93 Comments

So much has been happening here at the house! We are making some nice progress on the basement. Most of it I still can't show you, but it will be worth the wait!

I have the other bedroom mostly complete so I have moved on to working on the other room as well. The kids are currently camped out in the living room with sleeping bags. They think it is super cool. Hopefully they still think it is cool in a couple of days.

My HomeRight project this month is painting walls and ceilings, which is perfect since I have a whole room of baby blue and red walls :)

The easiest way to paint walls and ceiling without making a mess, is to use a PaintStick. I have both the regular and the EZ-Twist versions. This time I was using the twist one. It couldn't be easier. You clip the fill tube to the paint can, insert the tip of the tube into the paint stick, and pull the handle out. The suction pulls paint into the handle. Then you just slowly twist and paint comes out of the roller!

There are holes in the roller that allow the paint to come out. At first it will look all polka dotty but will start to be even as you push more paint out and the roller get saturated.

The long handle makes it easy to reach the ceiling. Bye, bye clouds!

Now I have a clean, blank slate on which I can work my magic. I am SO excited for what I have planned in here. I already have the wood cut for the two beds!

HomeRight is giving away THREE EZ-Twist PaintSticks! There will be three winners chosen.

Must be 18 years or older to enter and a resident of the United States. The giveaway will run from February 22, 2018 until March 1, 2018. The winner will be picked via random.org and will be notified by email. The winner will have 48 hours to respond or a new winner will be chosen. The company, HomeRight, will be responsible for shipping the prize.

We just never seem to have the time with full time jobs and the craziness of LIFE. Lol People told me while we were building that you'll never really be finished, well this year we intend on proving them wrong!

We have a high ceiled stairway. When we bought our house almost a year ago, the owners never finished repainting the stairway because of the high ceilings. So, we have khaki paint halfway up the white walls. It drives me crazy but with a 15month old and 5 year old twins, we just haven't found time to paint.

We painted almost the whole house about a year ago, but we still have a few rooms that need the ceiling painted. Unfortunately, we were given bad advice and told to paint the ceilings with primer because it’s the same as flat only chesper?. Not true. So, now we get to redo that job. Our autistic 16 year old also dicovered he's tall enough to reach the ceiling - with dirty hands. All of our ceilings need to be repainted in a washable finish, something I have been dreading. I think I will give the paintstick a try - free would be even better!

The people who lived here before us loved painting one wall a different color from the rest of the room. And they did it in almost every room. I am SO over that and would love to have my rooms all one color. I'd like to get rid of the dark blue/gray wall, but it's fighting the urge to start with the super ugly green in he living room.
