    Cement Planter {Styled X3}

    By Stacy 8 Comments

    It's that time again! I sent a little accessory to 2 other bloggers and we all used it in our homes and are sharing them with you today! This month I asked a couple of bloggers who I am also friends with in real life. Kara from Creations by Kara lives close to me which is awesome because I am far from SLC where I feel like every other Utah blogger lives :) And the other blogger is the darling Taryn from Design Dining & Diapers.

    This month our challenge was to use a cement planter.

    I bought the cement planter  from Walmart.com and it comes in other sizes and shapes.

    I added some vinyl and used it as a pencil holder for my desk. I really only need a few things when working. Notebooks, pencils and plants! I am old school and love making notes, sketching, and  writing ideas down on paper in nice notebooks and journals. I just love writing things down!

    There is an epidemic at our house where we can never ever find pencils that are sharpened or that have erasers. A sharpened pencil with any kind of an eraser left is kind of like a unicorn. The kids got pencils, erasers and sharpeners for Christmas and were told to leave "mommy's" pencils alone. Or else. Now I have a place to put them where they are easy to reach.

     Please excuse the mess that you can see reflected in the computer screen. HA! I am currently repainting and restyling the entire upstairs so "extra" things get shoved against that wall in the office for now.

    I filled the cement planter with gravel. I considered sand but I am a klutz and I knew at some point I would probably knock it over. Gravel is easier to clean up :)

    Don't forget to hop over and see what Kara and Taryn did with their cement pot!

    What would you have done with this cement planter?

      We have the same problem with pencils at our house. I've started hiding my mechanical pencils so my boys won't take them to school and loose them! Love those wood pencils you have, and your pot turned out darling!

      Cute idea! I love that you filled it with gravel instead of sand. I would have figured that out after it spilled about the 10th time. ;-)
