My childhood could be summed up in just a few words...butterfly net, overalls, and bare feet. I spent my time in the fields near our home collecting bugs, rocks, and leaves. There were not many things I enjoyed more than catching butterflies to inspect up close. My dad told me that you should never touch their wings since they are very delicate and they would not survive. I remember treating them with care and being full of awe. I don't think I am alone in my fascination. Aside from all of the analogies with their transformation, they are absolutely one of Heavenly Fathers most stunning creations.
I have been so happy to see that they are creeping into home decor and becoming even more popular, or dare I say "trendy".
Wallpaper is one of my favorite ways that I am seeing this pop up in homes. A bathroom is a great place to add it. Bathrooms are not too big and so it won't get overwhelming. Plus, it keeps the cost down since wallpaper can be spendy.

After seeing this image I am convinced I need to sit in front of a sunny window surrounded by butterflies!

I love the butterflies in this wallpaper in my bathroom!
I shared this chair on my facebook page awhile back and you guys went nuts for it! I don't think I could do a sofa in this fabric but a chair is perfect.

And I love the graphic nature of this one! I think I could get away with this one in my house since it has bugs on it too :)

The way I have incorporated butterflies in our house in the past is with prints. I have always just had one print but I am loving the way this space looks with multiple prints.

If you don't want to hang several, one large print can have just as much impact.

Or you could create your own by cutting them out of paper.
It doesn't have to be wallpaper or a large gallery wall. It could be as simple as a pillow. I think as the trend picks up that you will be seeing butterflies more and more.
Would you ever add butterflies to your space?

I love all these ideas! I have collected butterfly items for years. Before my mom passed away she collected butterflies and I inherited her entire collection. That started my love for them and it has continued on ever since. That chair is gorgeous!

The chairs - my favorite! Butterflies are going to take the place of owls.
Just a freedom in their beauty. They come to visit my garden during the summer and I just love it.
Plant some zinnias and they'll come visit you too.

I share your live of butterflies! I recently added a butterfly board to my Pinterest account. I have been painting large florals on canvas and plan to include butterflies in some of them.

Our kitchen has butterfly prints, butterfly photos that my husband and I have taken, and even some framed real butterflies. I love their vibrant colors and unique shapes!

If you're ever in the Phoenix-area, you should check out Butterfly Wonderland! We went a few weeks ago and it was amazing. It's a huge atrium, rainforest habitat with thousands of butterflies flying around. They're everywhere and even land on you! After visiting, I'm obsessed with butterflies and want to add a few butterfly prints around the house.
