    Fun Finds {Butter Dish}

    By Stacy 9 Comments

    Confession....I've never had a butter dish. We have always used a small plate and called it good. Sometimes I would hide it in a cabinet but then inevitably butter would get on whatever was already in the cabinet. In the summer I would worry about flies getting on it and year round there was the issue of dust. Honestly it is silly that I never bought a covered butter dish before this point. I can't even tell you what was stopping me, but when I added the opening shelving I decided it was high time to get one.

    I found the perfect white ceramic butter dish! Simple, sturdy, and looks great with the other things already on the shelf. I think it would fit in with any style of decor.

    I was tempted to cut out some vinyl lettering to put on the lid, but decided not to since my canisters already had lettering.

    I wish I would have bought one sooner :)

    Later this week I'll be sharing my new love seat I had recovered and there is a new Styled X3 this Wednesday! Depending on how productive I am this week, I may get another post up too. I was out of town last week and finally dug my way out of emails on Saturday. I also have the dreaded taxes to complete. I am ready to paint something!

    See you later this week!

      Love your butter dish and I am ready to add that splash of white to my kitchen, too! I have a spot chosen just for it, but here is my only fear.....does the butter stay fresh? It might take us at least a week to use a stick of it and I am just not sure.

        I've heard that since butter is made with pasteurized milk, as long as it is covered, it can last as long as a week. We used salted butter and the salt helps preserve it as well. But honestly, with 6 people we go through it faster than that. If you want softened butter but are worried about it, you could always put half a stick out at a time.

      I admit, I've never had one either. But I distinctly remember my Grandmother using one daily. I should really get one, just to have that memory near.

      Your butter dish looks awesome and some gold vinyl dots instead of lettering would be gorgeous to get some extra attention to the butter dish ;) Just saying :) Thank you for linking up with us at #HomeMattersParty . We would love to have you again next week.
