Freshen Up your Home For the Holidays

    By Stacy 90 Comments

This post is sponsored by HomeRight but all ideas and opinions are my own :)

It is that time of year when we get to trim our trees, hang lights, and pull out our holiday decor from storage. There's a new steam machine in town that will help you freshen up your home for the holidays!

The new machine, called the SteamMachine Elite comes with pretty much everything. A mop, extensions, tons of attachments and an accessory bag that can fold up or hang. My favorite thing is to steam up our rugs. If you live with boys and a dog, you may notice your rugs can start to smell like corn chips. Eww. Add the carpet glide (the black triangle) over the mop head and it easily glides over rugs and freshens them up!

    HomeRight SteamMachine Elite Steam Cleaner

Take the glide off and mop your floors!

I keep my holiday pillows in totes out in the garage. They also smell stale and sometimes are wrinkled from being smoothed. Add the fabric steamer attachment with the cloth bonnet and steam your pillows! It works great on upholstery too.

TIPS for Freshening Up Your Home For The Holidays

    Tablecloths

If you are like me, the only time the tablecloths see the light of day is during the holidays. They have almost permanent creases from being folded for the whole year. I hate ironing clothes but huge table cloths are the worst. If you have an indoor clothes line, it is easy to hang the table cloth up and steam away or steam it while it is on the table before you set it.

    Holiday Pillows

Even though I keep my holiday throw pillows in plastic totes in the garage I still feel like they need to be freshened up. At the very least they are stale (for lack of a better word). Most of the time holiday pillows are adorned with sequins, jingle bells, pompoms and other things that make us hesitate to throw them in the washing machine. The steamer is perfect for killing germs and refreshing those pretty pillows without harming them.

    Tree Skirts

Tree skirts fall into the same category as throw pillows as far as not wanting to throw them in the wash. But they need to be cleaned up too. The hand held steamer is perfect!

    Floors

Do you want to know what I look forward to the LEAST when hosting a dinner or party? The fact that I have to mop before AND after the party. Make that task easier with the steam mop!

It works on so many things, I'm not sure what i would clean first.
I smiled when I got to your pet peeve comment about steaming your floors before and after a get together, because it made me think of this past Thanksgiving when Turkey dropped on my floor and I said to my sister in law... "Man, I just cleaned my floors!!' and she looks at me and said..." well, you know they'll need it again! "
Ah, the holidays. So much work and then more after! Hahaha?
Happy Holidays everyone! Good luck and happy steaming?
