    Farmhouse Decor

    By Stacy 12 Comments

This month's theme for the Better Homes and Gardens (BHG at Walmart) post was "Farmhouse". Now you don't have to have an actual farmhouse to use a little farmhouse decor. I like throwing in a little bit of everything. A bit of mid-century modern, a dash of boho, a pinch of industrial, and a touch farmhouse for good measure.

Here are a few of my picks from the Better Homes and Gardens line:

I have a drawer full of rags. I have this thing where I can only use a rag once. No rinsing it out and using it again for this girl. I blame 60 minutes and all their special edition programs on germs. So my deep drawer in filled with probably 100 ugly rags. I don't really care what my rags look like, but I do want my dish towels to be pretty. You know, the ones that get thrown over the handle of the oven and that everyone can see. They need to be stain free and cute. If I put them in the same drawer as the rags, my kids use them to mop the floor and next thing you know they are dingy. I like the idea of putting them up in a basket on my shelves.

I remember the first time I laid one on these canister jars with the wood tops. It was love at first sight. I held off on buying them because I already had canisters. I still like my old one but these wood lids..... LOVE!!! I added vinyl lettering just like on my other ones. To be honest, I am not sure if I am going to keep these as canisters or if I am going to store office stiff in them and put them on my office shelves. But either way, I NEEDED them in my life. I have two in each size (small, medium, large).

These plates have made an appearance on my blog before when I have done table settings. I have a million white dishes since I like to mix and match but these are one of my favorite!

Love these lids! They look really nice with the shelves and cutting board, which is a really gorgeous one. I'm thinking of the cutting boards I have, and how I use the cheap one from who knows where all the time for bread, but can't bring myself to use the fancy one I received as a gift. I can't bear the thought of it getting scratched, which is the whole point of the cutting board after all. Do you treat the wood? I've always been drawn to wood in decor, so I love the touches of wood you have all over your house.

I love your style! Every thing is super cute! I am the same way with kitchen towels. I love having pretty ones draped across the stove handle that are to be admired but not used! :) Thanks for sharing!
