If you would have told me several years ago that I would be writing an article about loving pink I would have laughed in your face. As a former tom boy raising four boys pink is not usually a part of my daily life. I have even been known to say that I, uh hum, hated it. While that may have been a bit harsh, it was far from my favorite color. Looking back I don't think that it had to do with the actual color as much as it did to the meaning I attached to it. Pink was girly. Pink was frilly and fru fru and for girls who liked shopping for dresses and wearing lipstick. You get the idea. It was more of a mindset than anything. While I still loath shopping at the mall, I have warmed up to the color pink especially the subtle version I like to call "blush".
I picked out some examples of how you can incorporate pink into your home. Since I love doors so much (I do have a whole pinterest board devoted to them) let's start there.
A pink door can be more modern like this one that has a Palm Springs vibe with the cactus.

Or it can have a more rustic feel like this Dutch door. How cute is that mat?
If you are extra bold, you could paint your entire house pink! I am not sure if I could do it to my home but if I ever come into some money and build a guest house, it may just be pink stucco with lots of window boxes.
Do you have an older house with "outdated" pink tile? Embrace it! All you need to do is add some modern touches like new faucets, mirrors and lights.

I think this one is my favorite!
I have been seeing lots of pink velvet chairs and sofas floating around. Paired with the right accessories and art and it will look chic instead of childish.
Anthropologie
While the Anthropologie sofa may break the bank, this chair would be a good way to add some pink without the full commitment to a larger piece.
Target
Worried you will fall out of love with your blush colored furniture? Add pillows instead. They are easily changed out if you change your mind. I added these for Valentine's Day, but I have to tell you, I may keep them up year round. They have grown on me!
Along with pillows, throws are another inexpensive way to add this color to your space.

Think pink is only for the living room? Think again! I am loving these pale pink bar stools.
Caitlin Wilson Via Beckie Owens
These bowls would be the perfect touch for open shelving. They remind me of the pink depression glass my mom had displayed in our kitchen area when I was growing up.
Urban Outfitters
If you are brave enough, you could paint a whole room blush like I did for this preteen's bedroom.
If a whole room makes you nervous, pick a feature wall to paint. I can honestly say I never would have thought to paint brick pink, but I LOVE this!
This pink feature wall is the perfect backdrop for this office space.
So what do you think? Are you a long time lover of all things pink or are you just now warming up to the idea like I am? How have you used pink in your own space?

Ick for decorating with pink, lol! No can do pink at all, except maybe subtly in a little girl's room. Or a bow on a little girly puppy.
I totally identify with your feelings on pink! I refused to wear pink until college, and since I've got 3 boys I've been able to avoid the frufru as well. However I just painted my family room a lovely pale blush. It was the perfect choice since the room is North facing and quite cave-like much of the time. Its Adobe blush by name and only maybe just a tad too pink but we like it for now. Its deffinately an improvement over the taupe that was there, and pink looks amazing with green plants! (which I may have a ton of)
I don't use pink in decorating, but I love wearing pink! However, the Dutch Door is so lovely - it makes me smile! And I love those pink bowls. Your pink fuzzy pillow is sweet - I guess all those pink items really do make me smile!! :)
Pink brought sweet memories back to me.....My girlfriend and I painted her brick fireplace pale pink. It was beautiful!!!
When I moved to my next to the last house, I painted the kitchen hibiscus....which is very pink....think sun coming up in the morning pink......I loved it. With white wood work!!!
I had touches of pink in the living room!
Had to repaint it! (linen) so a man would buy the house!
My daughter had the palest pink kitchen in her condo, with a pink toile window treatment!!!
I love your pink doors.......and the touches of pink!!!
Enjoy the pink....look up hibiscus!!! Hard to have a bad day in a pink kitchen!!!

I love pink, love to wear it. I love the pink door and your pink pillows. I am thinking of ways to use pink in my home. Thanks for a beautiful post.
Hi Stacy,
Totally agree with you! I've never been a pink gal either. (Red hair - Mum said I couldn't ever wear pink....why???). But I am loving this lovely shade! It just makes me feel good, happy... or something! Smiley on the inside??? Ha ha ha. You get it, I'm sure. Thanks for sharing these images. Think I'll have to take a chance and get some blush into my home.

I love pink, so it was fun getting a girl after four boys and being able to do a pink room. Of course, now that it's done, she's telling me her favorite color is blue. Sigh. I love that dutch door by the way!
I love pink but I never would have thought to paint BRICKS pink. WOW! It looks amazing.
I would hesitate to use pink on walls but I absolutely LOVE pink. If you go a few shades darker, you have a nice orange, like "coral reef" by Sherwin Williams. It kind of looks a tad pinky in bright bright sunlight.
I did not realize that I like pink in a bathroom, until I saw what you did here. Fabulously!
I lean more towards blues and greens but certainly can appreciate pink - especially in your inspiration photos. So I guess I'm slowing warming up to it. It is definitely more than just for a little girl's room. Thanks for sharing your inspiration.
As a teenager, I was not a fan of pink either. After I got married, I embraced femininity a bit more. I've loved it for years. It might help that I have 6 daughters. I leaned more towards bright pink but am really loving the blush pink. I just painted my powder room ceiling blush pink.
Very fun post!
Hi! I'm one of the co-hosts from the Welcome home Wednesday Link Up. Your post is so pretty. I'm seriously crushing on blush! Everything is so pretty! Thank you for sharing!
