I love this time of year, not for the weather...brrr, but for the feeling of gratitude everyone seems to be feeling. Hopefully you are all planning on spending time with loved ones this Thanksgiving. If you are the *lucky* one who gets to host, or if you are helping set up the Thanksgiving table, I have a fun way to personalize each place setting. Today I am showing you how to make a monogrammed pumpkin!
I like to buy the small sugar pumpkins because after their use as decor for the day, you can roast them, puree them, and either use the puree then or freeze for use later. I love edible decor!
I printed out letters and cut them out. Grab some tape and a pin or needle for the next step.
You may have flashbacks to kindergarten and pin prick art while doing this since it is essentially the same concept. Poke the needle into the pumpkin all along the outline of the letter. Speaking of kindergarten, if you have kids or grandkids, this is something they can do to help speed this process along. I am always a fan of this kind of child labor ;)
Cut the top off and clean out the pumpkin.
Using a razor blade knife, trace along the pin pricked lineto cut out the letter.
When you are done cutting, wipe off the pumpkin and add a tea light!
While I might hesitate to do this if I had a very large group, I think it would be very doable for a regular sized gathering especially if you have a helper or two.
What are you Thanksgiving plans this year?

Lol, my 15 guests only get paper plates, have to bring their own beer and I force them to take out the trash as they leave. These personalized pumpkins put me to shame!

Hahaha! It makes me think of a comment we still tease my mom about. We have Sunday dinner at my mom's every other Sunday and one time someone went to go set the table with paper plates and she said "Not those ones! Here, use the Sunday paper plates." She meant the ones with decorations instead of plate white. We are a pretty casual bunch most of the time too :)

That's a cute idea and I'll have to remember it. But this year, we're all going to Elmer's for Thanksgiving dinner! Woohoo! No prep, no fuss, no cleanup. I think we all decided we just wanted to take a break. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
