Home Office & Craft Room Tour

    By Stacy 6 Comments

Good morning! I get the pleasure of not only sharing my work space with you today but also the work spaces of 24 other bloggers! Crafts rooms and home offices galore for tons of inspiration!

I finished my office space last year but only recently did the closet space. That felt like a room makeover all in its self! I'm kind of obsessed with old wood, black & white, and greenery.  It's a little bit rustic and a little bit modern. And now I have a Donny and Marie song stuck in my head....

This desk was actually my dad's and I refinished it right after we moved into our house about 10 years ago. He passed away when I was 15 so I love having it in my own office.

The reclaimed wood shelves hold a secret. They also are drawers! I have a tutorial on how I build them.

The white cabinets on either side of the desk are storage cabinets on the bottom but filing cabinets on the top! The roll in and out for easy access. I built those too :)

There is a special story behind this fingerprint art. I love the story so much I wrote a whole post about it :)

I built these hexagon planters. They used to be gold but I think black works better for this space. Next to the planter is a reclaimed wood desk for our keyboard. My two oldest play the piano and my third is about to start lessons. While I would love to have an actual piano, this works for us for now.

Next to the desk, sitting awkwardly in the corner, is the closet I just completed. You should have seen my office floor, hallway floor, and dining room when I emptied this sucker. It holds SO.MUCH.STUFF. You can see all the details and the before shots in my recent post.

    I love the giant pegboard!

Next to the closet is my wall of shelves for props and random things that have no where else to go. Adding this wall of shelves is probably the single greatest thing we have done for our house when it comes to clutter. We always had piles of things that didn't have a home so it just sat on counters or in corners.

Since my office also acts a mudroom, the crates below are for shoes.

Here you can see the hooks behind the door that complete the "sort of" mudroom. They are rocks glued to 4 inch screws. It seemed fitting since my boys all collect rocks :) I also have a vintage pencil sharpener just like we had in my dad's office growing up.

I love the picture collage above the hooks. I sit and look at it almost every day. Those cute little faces are why I bust my tail every day.

Can you believe we made it all the way to the end of the tour without mentioning the striped floors? I painted the damaged sub floors so they could be pretty until we can afford new flooring in the upstairs. I kind of fell in love!

OMG...I'm totally in love - with ALL of it! Those adorable black-and-white baskets for the plants, the once gold but now black planters, the fun rug, the wall of baskets...and THOSE floors! Ah-mazing! Don't ever replace them! :) #funtasticfriday - Amy

Oh my goodness, you have done a fantastic job with this space. The floating shelves, the industrial style, that quirky striped floor; it's all so lovely! :)
      Best,
      Kelly
