My darling friend Cami, from the blog Tidbits, emailed me and asked if I wanted to have a copy of her new book all about cooking with electric pressure cookers. Wanting to be a supportive friend, and wanting to get my hands on what was surely going to be a gorgeous book, I said yes. One problem, I hadn't jumped on the electric pressure cooker bandwagon and didn't own one. I have a tendency to hesitate every time something "new" comes out. I wait until enough people I know have one and see if it is really lives up to all the hype. Anyone else out there do that?
Cami wrote this book with her equally talented sister, Marci. The photography is stunning!
Well, I was considering it and Cami said she prefered the Fagor brand to Instapot so I contacted Fagor and they sent me a 6qt cooker to try. When the cooker and the book arrived, of course the first section I looked at was the dessert. Oh my goodness! It looks like I need to get a spring pan!
There is everything from breakfast, to dinner, to sides, to sauces.
I'm not going to lie, even though I have used a regular pressure cooker, I was a bit nervous to give it a go so I decided to try something simple for my first time. I had just winterized the garden and had dug up the rest of our rainbow carrots. I LOVE steamed carrots with lots of butter so I knew that was what I was going to do first.
Fagor 6 quart electric pressure cooker
Oh my goodness! It was SO EASY and SO FAST! I think I will need to get rid of my steamer because all my veggies are getting cooked this way from now on. Not only is it fast, but it locks in the flavor and color. They were so yummy!
The next thing I am going to make is this cranberry applesauce. We are having family over the day after Thanksgiving for turkey sandwiches and other leftovers. I think this would be the perfect addition to that lunch :)
Rumor has it you can cook frozen chicken breasts in about 10 minutes. WHAT!? Now every time I realize I don't have a dinner plan at 5pm I can still whip up a great dinner. Let's be honest, that is most nights.

Cami is generously offering to give away a copy of her book. It would make the perfect Christmas gift too!

Hi!?
My favorite meal is like a stew or a sauce or a chili! Something that cooks most of the day and smells your whole house up,giving it that cozy warm feeling.
On a sad note, I purchased an electric pressure cooker 2-3 years ago and I'm very intimidated by it. Ive used it once and there it sits. I LOVE to cook so this is troublesome!
Thanks for the reminder about being able to throw frozen food in it.
Maybe today's the day I get my "gumption" up and try something.??
I love to make chili especially at this time of the year. I would loe to try an electric pressure cooker!
Beef stew is our family favorite. This book would come in handy!
I enjoy making several dishes for my family. I enjoy making homemade pizza, chicken dishes, and taco soup with cornbread ?
Most definitely it would have to be white chicken chili with lots of jalapenos. Our family loves hot foods!
On the top of my list would be Lentil and sausage soup and mushroom risotto.
My family's favorite meal is always roast beef, mashed potatoes, and gravy. I seem to create a mountain of pots and pans in the sink but no one minds the clean up!
I've had a pressure cooker for many years but have been afraid to use it, fearing it would blow its seals and damage my kitchen (remembrances of my Mom's experiences). I realize I'll never use it and will be discarding it. I'd love to place my trust in an electric one!
Pot roast is a favorite in my house!
Our family’s best meal is a roasted chicken (whole) in the crockpot. Season salt on top and let her go on low all day. Make gravy, mashed potatoes and a salad. I dont have a pressure cooker, but it is on my ‘want/need’ list.
It’s pretty cool this time of year so I make a chicken and rice porridge seasoned with garlic and ginger called arroz caldo. I particularly like cooking a whole roast chicken because it is so easy and I can use the leftovers for a whole bunch of other dishes.
One of our favorite meals is Beef Stew!
I'm almost ready to hop on this bandwagon, too! Everyone is raving about the ease of cooking, the multiple options and the taste of foods cooked in one. I could get rid of my crockpot for one thing. And I love cooked veggies but I know that I cook all the flavor out of them on the stove. I'm going to check out some on Amazon. Thanks for the post.
Favorite dinners are roast beef, lasagna with sausage, chili. Yum! Thank you for the chance to win! Happy Thanksgiving!
I love my Instapot and am always looking for new recipes. Best quick soups...chicken tortilla soup is one of the best!
My favorite meal to cook my family CHILI! We are chili lovers over here!
I love to cook tacos!
This time of year soups and stews are a favorite, and they usually last for more than 1 meal - which is extra nice!
I have never used a pressure cooker but have it on my wishlist! I love to cook and a good Beef stew is always something my family loves! This book looks like it is filled with wonderfully delicious recipes my family would love. My fingers are crossed!
I love cooking pot roast for my family and chicken curry.
We love soups and stews - beef stew, chicken noodle soup, black bean soup - learning to use a pressure cooker without fear would be wonderful!
To be fair and honest, I no longer cook in my house. That's right! After decades of it with no appreciation I gave up! BUT my husband now, cooks every meal with a great deal of appreciation and love! He makes the most delicious meals with a few spices and chicken. I don't know how he continues to amaze me!!! He has been interested in this kind of cooking for a while, yet like you, he is hesitant to purchase the cooker. Perhaps with a little inspiration...like a cookbook, he may take the plunge too! Thanks for the opportunity! Your rainbow carrots look extraordinarily yummy!!!
Our family loves making homemade pizza, pork tenderloin medallions and burritos.
One of our favorite dishes is Tomato Basil Cod served over rice. My kids request this dish frequently.
OH wow..I'm a food and home cook who loves to cook and do everyday.
It's a challenge to pick one favorite.
Maybe my great grandmas over 100 year old recipe for southern chicken and dimplings.
So rich, creamy and delicious..rolled and cut into squares for the dumplings
This pressure cooker sure wood make the meal faster!
Thanks
We like to make a lot of Mexican, so this would be interesting to see how I can incorporate a pressure cooker.
Thanks for the chance.
I'm like you - haven't jumped on the electric pressure cooker band wagon yet. Don't know if I would use it enough, but these recipes sure make it something I'd like to try.
My family loves soup so I make that often. And dessert!
My family love Lasagna!
Chicken and dumplings is one of our favorite meals. Looks like a beautiful book!
I love to make Pork Tenderloin in mine.
My favorite meal to cook for the fam is slow cooker cheesy chicken broccoli. They love it and it’s super easy for me. Win, win! I wonder how fast that would cook in an instapot...?
I like cooking turkey and fixins for my family. They all love it and it's really not hard to do.
That book looks beautiful! I love to cook a whole chicken. You can do/make so many different things and usually two - three different meals with one bird.
Usually chicken and fresh veggies.
My family loves a delicious homemade pasta. We're Italian and just love a delicious homemade tomato sauce and some homemade pasta. Add a bit of ricotta and mozzarella and our dinner is perfect. This is our traditional weekly Sunday dinner.

My kids favorite is white chicken chili. It gets made weekly. I always know everyone will eat without a fight that night.
My favorite meal to cook for my family is the green chile stew and refried beans that my great grandmother used to make for us. My kids wont be able to meet her, but she lives on through the recipes she taught my mom and aunts, who then taught me!
Lasagna and garlic bread.
My favorite meal to cook crock pot style is pot roast. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beef! It is pretty much the only reason why I buy beef. Ground turkey works so well. Also I really love mixed roasted vegetables. All the different flavors keeps you eating more than you would think. Nothing is wrong with filling up on veggies!

A roast with mashed potatoes is our favorite, with leftover roast beef to make sandwiches with caramelized onions.
I love making up great big lasagnas!
I do not have a favorite meal, only because I do not know how to cook. I know cliche, but I did not have a mom growing up. I grew up with nothing but boys so lets be honest, they were def not going to teach me. I have 4 hungry babies and a very hungry husband and I honestly want to learn. I've tried recipes on fb but they always turn out nasty and its just left there to throw away. I received the multi-cooker for my last Christmas from a friend, because she knows I suck at cooking lol, but its just been sitting there as decoration. I will def be getting your friends cook book :)
