I have a special treat for you! This week we are talking about home decor trends from the 1980s and 1990s that made their way back and we both "dressed the part".
My husband was such a good sport he even grew his hair out long enough so we could feather and spike it. He also let me glue gun a mullet to the back of his hair. AND as if that was not enough, he let me shave steps on the side of his head! It is hard to see in the video so I took a picture. This man of mine is up for anything, bless his heart!
So check out what we had to say on the matter.... (remember we filmed these this past summer).
(Those of you viewing this in email and some readers you will need to click over to my blog to see the video)
The classic "What are they looking at?" shot
So it is YOUR turn! What trends do you hate that have made a come back? And what trends are you happy to see again?

Thanks for the chuckle this morning! I'll be avoiding those trends like the plague! Once is enough!
I had to put my tea down, because I'm laughing my a$$ off at your total '80s looks - and that picture - with the "where are they looking?" shot was the icing on the cake! As for design trends... I sadly had my first college "stuff" in a shared dorm room all in mauve. All of it. I must have been nuts, because I would NEVER choose that color now! LOL Great video you two!
I feel the same way with forest green! A whole lot of green was in my dorm room. I can't go back....
I am older than you because I was also thinking of the 70's and the avocado green, burnt orange, golden yellow and chocolate brown of the 70's. When those colors started making a comeback I was mortified! And I agree that forest green carpet is not something I hope comes back! I remember vacuuming that stuff! It showed EVERYTHING! You might hate my rooms that have those wallpaper borders you were talking about, but I am in love with them! :)
You two are so fun!
I didn't mean to imply that everything I named in the beginning I didn't like. I was just naming examples. I obviously like stenciling :) And my mom's house is covered in wall paper. I think it is charming! The ones I can't get past are the forest green, mauve, and large floral prints. But it is just me personally. I have a friend and sister who are all over the floral and another friend who is loving the forest green! I guess that is why things make a comeback :)
Marty, I am right there with you:) I remember living in homes with the avocado green countertop. And the ghastly shag carpeting. This really was adorable- you two are very funny and really made me laugh. I am a big fan on the antique brass - but the rest has to go!!
Growing up my bedroom was "dusty rose" pink, with a horse foal border, edged in hunter green. Loved it! I still love it {or the memory of it}, but I would never ever do that again lol
We're in the planning stages of our renovation and all I keep coming back to is gray...haven't figured out why, and if I'm late to the gray band wagon. There is nothing gray in our house now.
Seriously love this!! Your hair is cracking me up and I cannot believe that he let you do the steps in his hair. Classic! I do not like the trends of the 90s, the forrest green and florals. They are just too "old looking" to me.
I really like it when folks come together and share
views. Great site, keep it up!
