Christmas Porch Blog Hop

By Stacy 8 Comments

Good morning! I don’t know what it has been like in your neck of the woods, but it has been unusually warm here. All this sunshine has me feeling a bit weird about decorating for Christmas. It brings me back to the days when we lived in Las Vegas. The inside of my home is not done yet but my front porch is, and I can’t wait to share it with you! I have joined 9 other bloggers to share our Christmas porches all decked out.

My porch is only about 6 feet wide so I don’t have a lot of room to work with. I usually decorate my porch symmetrically but when I went to the nursery to pick out a couple of small pine trees, I fell in love with this little black hills pine and it didn’t have a twin. He’s adorable! He’ll get planted at my mom’s in the spring but for now he sits proudly on my porch in an equally adorable vintage crate.

I have a ton of these crates and up until now they have sat in my garage. I was happy to have finally put them to use. I think some of them will be filled with flowers come spring but for now they hold pine cones. As much as I hate to say it, it will look better with a dusting of snow :)

When I share my home tour later you will see plenty of blue and green which is also reflected on my porch.

I love when a Christmas porch can also translates into “winter” and can stay up all season and not just until December 25th. You can’t go wrong with pine boughs and pine cones!

Here are all the other bloggers who are participating. Grab a cup of cocoa and enjoy the tour!

I love the simplicity of your porch! You can never go wrong with greenery at the front door. I think it says, “Welcome” better than almost any other decoration.

The previous owners added tiny nails into the mortar. You don’t notice them unless you are looking for them. I used wire to attach the garland to the nails :)

Your porch has such visual interest on its own, with the two lovely arches, that I like the “less is more” approach, and the asymmetry. The garland around the outer arch is gorgeous.

I dropped the ball on decorating our porch for Christmas this year, but I’m already planning for next year!
