Winters can be hard. I have a variety of tricks in my bag for when it gets particularly grey (actually and figuratively). One of those is to curl up on the couch with the blinds wide open to let in as much air as possible and read a good book.
This first book I am sharing with you is written by two sweet sisters who I have the privilege of calling my friends. They have a blog together called At The Picket Fence. This is such a beautifully written book and you can tell they poured their whole souls into it.
I didn't start at the beginning. Instead I started at winter. I actually received this book back in the Fall and wanted to read and share about it then but things got really crazy for me. I dropped a lot of balls and was stressed out. Then I thought for sure I would get to it over Christmas break when I took my blogging break and then ended up spending most of it in the hospital with my son. Couple that with regular winter blues and I was feeling bad for not having everything together.
And then I read the chapter called Being Still. It was what I needed to hear and was eloquently said.
Not only are there beautiful words of wisdom, there are projects and recipes that go hand in hand with the stories within.
When berries come in season you can bet I will be making this!
The next book that you will love to curl up and pour through is called Farmhouse Charm. My cute friend Liz from the blog Love Grows Wild, wrote this book based on her own farmhouse.
She has TONS of projects in her book. Projects that anyone can do at any skill level.
Liz has such a perfect sense of style. If you love farmhouse at all, you will fall in LOVE with her home.
Just like I love to read garden catalogs in the winter as I plan for my spring garden, I like to look over shelter magazine and home decor books to plan for diy projects around my home. I am confident that you will be inspired to tackle projects in your own home after reading this :) Liz makes it seem so easy!
Alright, I shared a couple of the books I have read recently, I would love to hear what YOU have been reading. I like a little bit of everything so hit me with your favorites!

I'm intrigued by the first book, A Life in Seasons. I too seem to drop a lot of balls when my life becomes too stressful. All my good intentions fall to the wayside as I slip deeper into survival mode. So I appreciate your honesty and the books.
