    Simple Fall Holiday Table

    By Stacy 15 Comments

This post was sponsored by Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart but the ideas and opinions were all mine baby!

I wish Fall lasted longer! Here in Utah I feel like it is gone in a blink of an eye. I was happy when I found out the theme for this October BHG post (Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart) was holiday table settings. While I would love to have a large dining room table that would seat extended family as well as my own, I make due with ours that seats up to six.

With the table being on the small side, it forces me to keep things simple when it come to table decor but even if you have a large table, it doesn't mean you have to go over the top with your centerpieces and such. Sometimes less is more :)

I chose to have the pumpkin spice cake be the centerpiece. My naked cake looked, well, naked so I added some salted caramel to it and I have to say, I don't think I will ever eat a pumpkin roll or cake without it now!

The kids and I gathered leaves and acorns up the canyon near our house. I washed the leaves with soapy water and baked the acorns on low (225 degrees F) to make sure they were sanitary. Fall leaves are so beautiful! I think they are as pretty as any flower.

Whether your gathering is big or small, don't stress out about the decor. Keep it simple!

What are your plans for Thanksgiving this year? Do you have an assignment you are always in charge of?

So cute. If you go to the dollar tree or big lots you can pick up fancy glasses for nothing that would put this over the top!

I have NO clue what we're doing for Thanksgiving this year as we'll be on vacation some of the days leading up to it. We won't be hosting anyone at our house, hopefully we get invited to Thanksgiving at a friends house... otherwise I'll do a small Thanksgiving meal just for us (we don't have any family with a 24 hour drive of us) . I LOVE the look of your cake, and your table setting is beautiful!

Love it! Sometimes less and best. And definitely agree about the caramel on the cake. We have a big feast at my brothers. Usually 3 different types of turkey and a ham. I always make the sage bread stuffing and the cranberries for our Family Thanksgiving meal or all there would be is stovetop and canned cranberries LOL.

Simple and beautiful! Floral centerpieces are always a challenge for me so I often rely on a cake or some other dessert. Plus an edible centerpiece is way more fun!

Most of the time the food is the centerpiece, so keeping it simple is a smart idea. Thanks for sharing on Merry Monday.
