What I’m Crushing On {Turkish Kilim Rugs}

By Stacy 4 Comments

I love color. And I love pattern. Those two things got married and had a Turkish Kilim rug baby.  I wish I had several in my house. They are my latest obsession. They can be expensive however. And they are one of those things, like a card catalog, that you have to hunt for and be patient for the perfect one at a good price. And since a lot of them come from over seas, you also have to make sure you are buying from a reputable seller and are aware of possible fees. But man, oh man! They are gorgeous!

This is one I have seriously considered (as in I  put it in my cart twice).

One of my favorite things about these rugs is the fact that they are all unique. They all have their own pattern. This one makes me swoon!

You guys, I almost pulled the trigger on this one. I want it so badly because it is my all time favorite pattern and color combination. The only thing is, I have NO need for a runner. I need this to be a regular rug. *Sigh*

This rug seems like a rug that would be in a sun filled room full of pillows, plants, and someone lazily reading the afternoon away.

One part of me wants a super colorful rug, and the other part of me wants a more subdued one like this red rug. I have seen SO MANY rooms online that inspire me that all have mainly red kilim rugs.

So what do you think?

Is this something you would add to your space?

    They look very much alike the Romanian rugs, the third one (the runner) especially remembers me by one in Grandma’s house

    Agreed. I think there is, as with most things, a continuum of balance. We can be more or less balanced even if we can never reach that true, perfect, Platonic form of Balance. So breaks are essential to keep us on the right side of the spectrum. (And to maintain sanity!)
