    Stayin' Cozy This Winter

    By Stacy 14 Comments

If you live somewhere where it gets really cold and or snows, you know winter can be a challenge when it comes to keeping the kids happy. Especially over Christmas break. Am I right??? (picture me saying that with my eye twitching) It is tempting to just let them watch TV all day but I try to use that as a last resort or at the end of the day when I am trying to make dinner. One thing all my kids love is to curl up with a blanket. It doesn't matter what they are doing, a blanket makes it that much better! When I heard that this month's theme for my Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart post was "Cozy", I knew I wanted to stock up on more blankets. The fact that they all match my decor is a bonus :)

Remember that blue bench I bought earlier this year? It is filled with card games and board games. We pull out games almost every day in the winter. The kids kind of fight over this blue one with snowflakes because of how fuzzy it is. Both side are plush and soft and you know I am crushing on that color! Plus, snowflakes is kind of my theme for this Christmas. The grey cable knit blanket is one I bought last year and even though it has been washed a thousand times, it still looks amazing.

This chenille throw in grey is probably my favorite. It is warm but not too heavy that it couldn't be used year round.

This striped throw blanket is so pretty! It is lighter so my husband likes it best. He gets hot easily but still wants to have a blanket while watching TV at night so I drape it on his side of the couch.

Are you the type of person who needs to have a blanket when they read or watch TV? I even need one in the summer or I feel weird. What are your "go to" things you do with your kids in the winter to keep them happy? I could use some ideas :)

I've got a bunch of sick kids this week, so everyone is fighting over the blankets. Looks like I need to stock up on some of these cute throws!
