Spring Clean…Steam Clean!

By Stacy 155 Comments

I used to be the main person who cleaned because my kids were too little to do much more than help tidy and Shane was in school full time and working full time. Now things have changed and my boys have daily cleaning jobs. In some ways it really helps, but the OCD in me sometimes twitches when I see the quality of the job they do. I want to follow them around and fix things but I know they won’t learn that way. I do make suggestions on how they can improve and I am sure they will.  My oldest is already a pro for the most part. Since I am not the one cleaning the bathroom on a regular basis, it means that once a week when I do clean it, I have to deep clean it instead of just your basic wipe down. There are also little things around the house that my boys tend to miss like light switches and door knobs.

Me and my trusty SteamMachine have it all covered though :)

It can steam clean rugs. The ones that get the most traffic, like runners and door mats are the ones I steam the most. But it can spot clean larger rugs too.

There was a point in time when my germaphobe self needed to clean the door knobs multiple times a day. While I don’t do it that often anymore, I do feel better when I can steam those germs away. My door knob plates hae little groves and the scrub brush attachment gets in all the little nooks and crannies.

Baseboards (especially in the corners!) are another of my favorite thing to use the SteamMachine on. While I’m down on that level, I go ahead and steam the vent covers too. It also rocks tile grout!

Anywhere there is molding detail with a ledge like doors, cabinet doors, board and batten, ect., the dust collects like crazy. I like using the plastic scrub brush here as well. Scrub & steam and then just wipe it away!

Ugg! Why do window tracks get so dirty! I feel like I am always having to clean them. Before I had the SteamMachine all I could do was wipe and get what was within reach. Now with the nozzle attachment I can get in the cracks. Wipe away with a rag and you are good to go!

HomeRight wants to giveaway a SteamMachine to help one of you get your spring cleaning started! Enter below using the Rafflecopter widget.

What a great little machine. I am always looking for a way to clean all my doors with that beautiful edge and don’t even get me started on the slider track. Ugh! My mama is OCD and as they say, the nut don’t fall far from the tree. I try to fight it but it gets me every time. Have a wonderful day. Vicky (a little OCD, maybe).

Sounds like a dream come true!
With 4 cats there’s always something needing cleaning!
First thing on the list to be cleaned are registers because our heat registers in the walls of our home have little slats to control the amount of heat that comes through and There’s no way to clean them unless you unscrew them from the wall!
Now, you can imagine the dust on them from a forced hot air furnace!!
It gives me nightmares of dust bunnies saying “Haha, you can’t get us!”….well, that’s if they could talk.

6 Children-3 boys and 3 girls means I would probably start in the boys bathroom (yikes!), and then the craft room, and then…. Let’s just be honest, I think I would take a week and do every surface of my home. This is awesome!

I would steam clean the tile in my kitchen first. It never looks as clean as I’d like, plus I’m a really messy cook and I’m sure there are things on it that I don’t even want to know about.

I cannot decide whether I’d clean my bathroom or kitchen floor first. Once I got started cleaning the kitchen floor though, I am sure I’d find plenty more to clean. Surprisingly my moldings appear pretty clean for now. Amen to Anna Marie’s comment!
