    Parades and Happy News!

    By Stacy 26 Comments

I know I already posted the linky party today but I wanted to pop in to share some fun things. First of all, My husband who has been laid off for the past couple of months was offered a job at a place in SLC called Denton House. It is an architecture and interior design firm and he will be apart of their design team. I can not express the joy our family is feeling right now.  Seven years ago, when we moved here he had a great job at an architecture firm. He loved it. There were plenty of perks, it was close to home, and he loved the people he worked with. Then the economy came crashing down and his firm had to lay off about half of the people. All those who had been there the least amount of time had to say goodbye. My husband has struggled to find work doing what he loves. And he has had a hard time finding long term employment. This new job is finally going to be going to back to what he went to school to do and what he is passionate about. My husband coming home HAPPY and FULFILLED is more important than a paycheck. My dad was a milk man and absolutely LOVED it. I don't think it matters what you do as long as you are happy.

This is the time of year in Utah when there are a ton of little town celebrations like Cherry days, Strawberry days, Orchard days, Onion days, etc. So that means lots of parades! We went to a couple recently. One was a children's parade and my kids had a BLAST!

We made a bug "float" and I made the kids all shirts with heat transfer material.  And my youngest worn a fly costume I made for Halloween years ago. He loved every second of it and thought the whole parade was for him. Oh if only we could all have the self esteem of a three year old :)

We also glued giant plastic bugs to the side of the grass on the wagon.

As an architect, I know how tough it's been these last few years for everyone in the industry. I am so glad that he found a job in the field! What an achievement!!...and an answer to prayer!

Congratulations on your husbands' job. It's does mean a lot to do what you love. My son is going in to his last year of college getting a degree in architecture. I hope by the time he gets out the economy has recovered and he can find a job!

Stacy I am so excited for your family, Congratulations! I completely understand your sentiments about a happy hubby. My husband works for the State and we took a big pay cut when we left the private sector, but the rewards of having a husband who is excited about his job more than outweigh the paycheck. Thanks for all the great projects you share and for the positive thoughts you send.

Congratulations to your family! That must be such a relief. My husband lost his job in December. Luckily, we had severance and unemployment to help us get through it. I will begin teaching in a couple weeks and be the main provider. Though, teachers don't make much so I'm hoping we are able to find something soon.

Congratulations! Is that the job you got the call about while we were at lunch? I know the commute won't be fun, but what a wonderful blessing. I'm so happy for your family and especially for your husband to be back working in a field he loves and was trained for. I love the costumes. How cute are those? I have a couple of award-winning costumes I made for my kids years ago. They loved them.
