    Nucleus Home Intercom (GIVEAWAY!)

    By Stacy 104 Comments

When Shane and I were house hunting I literally almost bought a home based solely on the fact that it had a working 1970's intercom system. Ever since I was a kid, I thought it would be so cool to push a button instead of screaming and yelling for someone in another part of the house to hear you. As I mom, I feel like 87% of my time is yelling for kids to come or trying to yell a message down to them when they are in the bowels of the basement playing. When the good people at  Nucleus contacted me about reviewing their intercom system I JUMPED at the chance! I get to have an intercom and I don't have to live in a orangey house by the freeway that smells like cat pee.

I also get to feel like Oprah for a teeny tiny second because I get to giveaway a set to one of you!

nucleus wireless intercom for your home

This. Thing. Is. Awesome. Not only can I (calmly) ask my kids to come upstairs when I need them, it connects to Alexa so I can ask it questions and play music whenever I want!

    nucleus intercom plus alexa

My kids are obsessed and their initial reaction was priceless. They spent the first couple of days asking silly question to Alexa and giggling endlessly. My youngest's favorite feature is "Alexa, tell me a joke." It sure beats his made up knock knock jokes :)

    nucleus-home-intercom

Shane and I have also connected our phones. That means the kids can either call us or call and do a video chat or we can call home to do that. You can have grandparents add it to their phones as well! Okay, let's be honest.... YOU can add it to their phones.

If you are away from home, you can use the app to check on your home with the video button and see a live feed from any of the rooms that have a monitor.

We got the kit with two monitors. One for upstairs and one for down. The downstairs one is in the hallway in between the two bedrooms. I love that it came with the things you need to mount it to the wall (screws and even a little level!) and also a stand in case you want to prop it up on a counter or shelf. You guys, it is SUPER easy to set up! Plug it in and follow the on screen prompts. It has a touch screen and is really easy to use.

    nucleus-packaging

Here are some of the questions I had when I first heard about it. Maybe you are having the same thoughts.

Do I want to put something with a video function in my kid's bedroom? What if it gets hacked? Or what if I have one in my bedroom and someone calls when I am dressing?   There is a privacy button on the home screen that will make it so you have to accept the call or "answer" it before it goes to the video chat. There is also a button on the top that switches the video shutter off so you can control when the video function can work and when to have it completely off.

This is amazing and the price is right.... but is there a monthly fee I have to worry about? Nope!!! No monthly fee! I think this is the best part :)

Is it going to be loud enough that my kids will actually hear me? Or will I still end up yelling at them? Yep! It is totally loud enough. I have even had my kids say "Mom! Don't talk so loud. We can hear you just fine!"

    nucleus

The only thing that would make this better, is if there was an outdoor one with a loud speaker so I could call my kids in from the backyard or neighbor's house ;)

So who is ready to win one?!? The winner will receive the same package I did with two monitors in black. Enter below using the Rafflecopter widget.

Must be 18 years or older to enter and a resident of the United States. The giveaway will run from May 15, 2017 until May 22, 2017. The winner will be picked via random.org and will be notified by email. The winner will have 48 hours to respond or a new winner will be chosen.

    a Rafflecopter giveaway

I was given the product by Nucleus to review but the opinions and ideas were all my own.

Wow! What an amazing product! It is almost as if Nucleus created this with my family in mind! I have many health problems and have even been dead, (no pulse, no heartbeat, not breathing dead) when my husband arrived home on July 13, 2009. Thank goodness he knows CPR. He revived me and called the ambulance. On the way to the hospital they lost me a few times also. I spent 3 weeks in the ICU and came home on oxygen 24/7. Since then hubby worries if he calls and I don't answer. With this system he would be able to use his phone to check on me. It would really take a lot of his stress away and he might start to let go a little bit.
I am going to keep my fingers crossed tightly in hopes of winning this life changing product. Thank you and Nucleus for the chance to!

I keep telling my husband that our next house will have an intercom! We are retired and when I want to talk to him, I have to run around the house to find him. Usually by the time I finally find him, I've forgotten what I wanted to talk to him about.

Dying for a new intercom system. I have one that is totally archaic and doesn't even work!

Sounds great.I'm getting old. If I win, I'll have a child to set it up for me.

I would like it to use to keep track of my parents. They both have health issues. Mom has dementia & I'm always worried about her going outside & disappearing on a walk or something. This way I can watch both of them & they can reach me quickly if needed. Dad has COPD & they would need help for that too. I could always use it in my house too, but I'd probably just use it to get my son's attention when I need him for something. Yelling takes care of that too!
