Hi, my name is Anna, and I blog at My Life and Kids. I'm thrilled to be visiting with Stacy at Not Just a Housewife today!
I had three kids in three years and whew has my life changed! Just a few years ago I had a job I loved, a house in the city and a social life. Now I stay home with my three kids, I live in the suburbs, I wear mom jeans, AND I drive a minivan! In my spare time, I blog about it all at My Life and Kids.
Today, I'm going to share one of my favorite holiday projects with you.
Tree Branch Holiday Card Holder
Have you heard the news? Decorating with branches and twigs is the latest and greatest. Melissa Michaels at the Inspired Room wrote a fabulous post detailing why you should consider bringing the outside in this holiday season. (You can read it here.)
Here are a few of my favorite images that she included:

Using these as my inspiration, I created a tree branch holiday card holder.
Here's What You'll Need
Tree branches or twigs
Vase, urn or pot - something to "plant" your branches in
Rocks and stones to hold your twigs in place
Clothespins
Holiday cards
I grabbed a few branches from the yard and "planted" them in my glass hurricane. I tossed in some rocks and pebbles to hold them in place (purchased at Michael's years ago.)
Then I used my clothespins to pin my holiday cards to the branches.
It makes a dramatic statement - and is a very unexpected way to display all of that holiday mail.
This would also be a great centerpiece for holiday meals - I can see pinning pictures from past holidays to the branches or having everyone write what they're grateful for on a paper leaf and pinning the leaves to the branches for Thanksgiving.

Thanks so much for having me, Stacy!!
such a cute idea! :)
I have had three of the coolest branches in these big green ceramic vases for over a year...for the first thanksgiving I hosted with both my family and my husband's family - I collected photos of all our ancestors and of us growing up - put them in black and white, and pasted them to scrapbook paper and cut them out in the shape of leaves. I then punched holes in them, and hung them with cute ribbon from different branches.
It was the most perfect centerpiece, and helped both sides to tell their best family stories...
I loved it so much I kept it up until my parent's wedding anniversary brunch (where i did the same thing only with black and white photos of them on hearts).
Someday I hope to have enough pictures of my kids to make enough for three trees.
Haha That is awesome! I can totally relate to your mom jeans and mini van crisis! I too had no kids one day then two the next.. at age 17! But I wanted you to know that I enjoy reading your blogs and creative ideas. Keep smiling :) Nat
