The drywall on the outside wall of my laundry room is in bad shape. Since I know there is economy 1 1/2″ insulation in the wall of this house, I am going to rip out the drywall and install new insulation, a vapor barrier ( there is none right now), and mold resistant drywall. This room is on the north side so it is always a little colder. I think doing this would help keep this room much warmer! So if I win the gift card I will be buying insulation! Thanks for the chance!

Never once did I go and need to find a tool, part or advice that the guys and gals at Home Depot were not right there to help. I have always loved home depot but now it is much more–I do believe I can fix anything, and ‘project’ is my middle name–thanks to Home Depot! :)

I probably shouldn’t admit this on a Home Depot giveaway but I always used to be a Lowe’s girl. Recently though I switched to Home Depot, I admit mostly because it was closer to my house. I am so much happier with Home Depot! We actually had a home energy audit done last year and ended up switching out light bulbs, shower head, and adapted all our faucets. Over the last few years we’ve put in energy efficient windows, got a new washer and dryer, and insulated under the house. Next on the list is HOPEFULLY insulating the attic. New kitchen appliances are on the fantasy list.

I love HD because they have such a great selection and wonderful customer service! When we first bought our home we wanted to replace all 4 ceiling fans and found just the one at HD. Since they did not have 4 in stock, the manager sold us the more expensive version at the reduced price. It was so nice to take them home with us that day and get them installed.

Home Depot is my go to place for home improvement projects. I also get a lot of inspiration for new projects, too.
We resided, added insulaton, replaced some windows with french doors, and a few other things.
We plan to put in some new energy efficient windows very soon…before the cold weather settles in.
A gift card would really help stretch our very tight budget. We have a lot of windows to replace and will only be able to do one or two at a time. (We have 36 windows not counting the enclosed porch -a big financial ouch! $$$)

We have fixed the damage to the kitchen but have yet to replace the dishwasher (dont have the $) so handwashing it is…this would super help!!!

Oh Stacy! This is a fabulous giveaway! I love HD. Whenever we have a project, we go there first. I go there just to get ideas for projects! I could just spend all day there looking at all the fun gadgets and home improvement ideas :) And I go there for MDF board for when I paint (with oils -as in landscapes) and they have all thicknesses and some smaller sizes so I don’t have to lug a 4 x 8 board or have it cut into a million small pieces (they love that), but if I want a 4 x 8 I can do that too. As for my next energy saving project, that is easy – we need to replace the windows in our basement – we did all the windows upstairs about 5 years ago – but the basement still needs to be done. Thanks so much for the chance to win this fabulous prize!

I love Home Depot b/c of all that they have under one roof. Its no frills all layed out for you to see the variety of a particular product appeals to me when I am shopping for home products. I like to compare and touch, Home Depot has done a great job of making that happen. I also really like their paint dept.

This isn’t particularly groundbreaking, but I want blinds to save energy. I only have curtains now and they don’t block out much of the sunlight. The west side of my house warms up really quickly and having blinds would help immensely. The Home Depot has these awesome faux wood blinds for under $50 so this gift card would buy 2 – enough to cover both of my living room windows!

The men who work in them always look down their noses at women, and treat you like you’re a moron. Hello, who’s laughing now. Those old bastions of macho he-men are now just about gone. I wonder why……
I can walk around HD looking for what I need and not be hassled by condescending men. They’ve got everything, and, if you’re lucky, you can find an expert who’ll actually give you helpful tips on your project. Frankly, I gave up on Lowes because I had soooo many bad experiences there. HD wins hands down.

We have been working on energy efficient and earth friendly changes for many years now. My latest thing is that I am finally making myself take advantage of all the bulk items our wonderful food co-op carries. So many options for not buying items with lots of packaging exist but I have just ignored them, or used plastic bags when I purchased them. For many years I have tried to keep and re-use the plastic bags I used (saving the bag labeled: basil for each time I buy more basil), but now I am seriously trying to use the bulk items more and the plastic bags less. I am not allowing myself to buy more olive oil unless I have remembered to bring my glass bottle with me that I keep olive oil in, or the old glass jam bottle that I use for my cinnamon. I’ve still got a ways to go, but I’ve been making some great strides!

We close on our new home on 11/11 and yesterday we noticed a ton of light bulbs blown out. The house hasn’t been lived in for a year so the first thing we will need to do is replace all those bulbs with energy efficient bulbs.

My husband and I plan on installing new energy efficient windows [huge project!] this fall. We live in Florida, so the temps can reach well into the upper 90’s to 100’s during the summer months. We love The Home Depot, because they have some of the best prices and greatest products around!! Hope we win!!!

We have just a few more lights to swap out for energy efficient bulbs. Then next we plan on looking into ways to enhance insulation. :)

Follower on GFC (charity/ccboobooy) I like that Home Depot has helpful clinics. I really enjoy all of the DIY clinics on the weekends.

I love Home Depot because they continue to surprise me! I’m not gonna lie, Lowe’s is my go to store for basic needs (it’s also in walking distance of my home). However, every time my appliances have chosen to die Home Depot has always come through with a sweet deal & excellent customer service! But it also seems to be the only place I find the various little things I need to finish my projects. =]
