Best DIY Project of 2011 CONTEST

By Stacy 86 Comments

The day has come!!! I have been so antsy pantsy waiting for today! I can not wait to see the projects you guys choose. I am sure there will be a lot of pinning going on too :)

Just a recap of how this will work. . . . . . . . . .

Today through Friday January 6th (10pm MST) you can link up a maximum of 3 of your best DIY projects you did this past year. Over the weekend the guest judges and I will look them over and try to narrow it down to the top 5 projects. Then on Monday  January 9th, it will open up to voting. The winner will be announced on January 16th.

The judges are:

Kate from Centsational Girl

Emily from Decor Chick

Roeshel from The DIY Showoff

Donna from Funky Junk Interiors

Beth from Home Stories A 2 Z

Chris from Just a Girl

Lindsay from Living with Lindsay

Brittany from Pretty Handy Girl

Marrianne from Songbird

Rhoda from Southern Hospitality

Jen from Tatertots and Jello

Sarah from Thrifty Decor Chick

I want to say a quick thank you to the sponsors of the contest. When I approached them about this it was the VERY end of the year. I knew going into it that it was the WORST time of year to ask for product.  I was amazed that they were willing to be so generous. Please support them and thank them for their willingness to help with this fun contest :) They are all companies I believe in and are products I use and love.

And the winner of this contest will receive these prizes:

Behr’s new Premium Plus Ultra paint is amazing! No priming and amazing coverage :) I LOVE Behr paint. The winner will get 3 gallons in their choice of color!!!

Minwax is offering the winner a starter kit worth $100.00! Whoot whoot! If you read my blog you already know how much I {heart} Minwax :)

The Home Depot AKA “The Orange Kingdom” AKA “The Happiest Place on Earth” is giving away a $50.00 gift card. What DIYer wouldn’t want to have a little shopping spree???

Black and Decker’s new All-In-One Laser Level is like the laser level of all laser levels. Dude, the thing suctions onto your wall! No marks!

Cutting Edge Stencils are the BEST! I love using them. I even have another stencil project in the works as we speak! They will be giving away a stencil of the winners choice, plus a foam roller!

Utah Truffles…….Oh Utah Truffles. Their mint truffles are my crack cocaine! I am totally addicted and I love getting others addicted too :) The winner will get a chance to sample $50.00 worth of pure bliss.

I have been using DecoArt products for YEARS! I use them on projects big and small. They are giving away a gift package of all my favorite products you see pictured :)

And here are the rules:

*You must be a follower of this blog

*You may link up a max of 3 DIY projects (because I know how hard it is to pick just one….)

*The project(s) must have been done by you (it is alright if you had a little help but the idea and the majority of the work should be YOU)

*The project needs to to have been completed and posted about in 2011

*You need to add the contest button in the post or on your sidebar

*Contest open to US residents only (sorry!)

***The code for the button is on my sidebar. For some reason putting it in the post screwed up the code.***

*If you do not have a blog but would still like to enter please email me your photos as well as a title or name for your project and I will add it to the post. I want everyone to feel like they can enter :)

I see the problem with the button code. You can grab the correct code from this page: http://www.oldtownhome.com/content/Not-Just-a-Housewife-Contest-Button/

Feel free to delete this comment if the one in the post is working now.

I’m not really sure if my entries qualify. I don’t do much DIY as far furniture redos go. But I do accessorize my house with a lot of stuff I create or makeover. So that’s what I linked up. Thanks for the opportunity, can’t wait to see all the creative projects that are posted! Good luck to everyone, there’s an amazing amount of talent out there!

We’re quite excited to be a part of your contest! Thanks for the opportunity. We have our three favorites for the year picked out and have your button proudly displayed on each.

Anyone having trouble with the button code, feel free to grab it from this page I setup. http://www.oldtownhome.com/content/Not-Just-a-Housewife-Contest-Button/

Also, hope you don’t mind we linked to a summary of our vestibule project. We had nearly 30 posts on the whole project, so I figured a wrap up was probably better.

    Thanks!

Thanks for hosting! I just posted one of mine but I would love to do my kitchen remodel. We finished in time for Christmas but I only posted up to the backsplash installation since the holidays took over. Any chance I can still be considered for that? I can email you links to the older posts so you see we were done but I have to post the completed photos.

I realize that this is a contest … but can I encourage everyone to please take the time to visit and comment on your favorites?

I’ve spent the better part of the day linking through. And if it’s worth a click then it’s worth a comment. Sadly, I don’t see comments coming from the party on the posts I’ve been clicking on … and trust me, they are comment-worth projects (many of which have 60-100 comments from their original post day).

There’s nothing in the rules that says winners will be picked based on clicks or comments, right?
