I had already written my "Favorite Things" post, like I do every year, when my cute friend Sarah asked if I wanted to be a part of a blog hop with other bloggers all sharing their favorite things too. Reading other blogger's posts is so fun because I discover new things. A few of them have found their way under the tree each year :) Joining up with other bloggers was a no brainer. I hope you enjoy following along and maybe you'll even find a few new things that interest you.
Here are mine in no particular order......
I bought these hobnail bowls earlier this year and have completely fallen in love! They are the perfect addition to my open kitchen shelves.
I searched forever for the perfect lights for above my kitchen sink that didn't break the bank. I love this style! I love the ones with another section or arm but since my window goes so high and the ceiling is only 8ft, the other type would not have worked. Both are pretty and would work in any space.
I have been trying to be better about getting on the treadmill every day. The biggest reason why I have hated it in the past is that the treadmill in in the basement and there isn't a TV down there. I stare at a cement wall and get bored and the time goes by so slow. Several months ago I bought this cell phone holder and have been watching shows on my phone while I workout. It would make a great stocking stuffer!
Wire baskets are so fun! I bought this originally for me for my office but recently added it to a little boy's room I decorated. I want to order a few more for my own kids! Basket s are so handy and these are such a great price.
This is a BEAUTIFUL book. It is a must have for the gardener or cook in your life. I even found my husband reading it on the couch for 2 hours shortly after I got it. He found it fascinating. It looks great on my family room book shelves!
Speaking of herbs, I bought these this summer and LOVE them! Several years ago I converted over to using fresh herbs instead of store bought dried (I do dry my own though) and I can say it makes a HUGE difference in the way things taste! Cutting up herbs with a knife is a pain and a bit messy. These herb scissors are so easy and fun to use. It comes with a comb to help clean them which I suggest tying them to the scissors so it doesn't get lost in the bottom of the utensil drawer. Or maybe that just happens at my house.....
We adopted a sweet pup last year and as a fairly new dog owner, there have been many things I have had to learn. Kevin, our Frenchie, would eat really fast and then end up throwing up after. After reading online I found that it was very common and that you could get dog bowls specifically designed to stop dogs from eating too quickly. I found these metal ones with a rubber grip bottom and they have been so nice! They don't get chew marks and they are easy to clean.
When I took down the upper cabinets in my kitchen and added open shelves, I needed a "pretty" way to store my herbs and spices. I found these jars and ordered them because they were such a great deal. They come with labels too!
At the same time as I was looking for a way to store spices, I was also needing something to store baking powder, cocoa powder, and other baking supplies that didn't warrant a big cannister. These metal tins were perfect! I added some vinyl lettering. They would be great for office supplies or hair ties and bobby pins in the bathroom.
Butter has been always been a pain in the rear for me. In order to always have soft butter I would put it on a random plate and keep it on the counter. It would get flies and dust on it and then I would throw it out before it was used up. Things would fall on it and get butter everywhere. I honestly don't know why I didn't think of this sooner, (I feel kind of dumb actually) but I finally bought a butter dish with a lid and it rocks my world. It sounds silly, but it is the little things people.
I just barely got this little beauty. I honestly could have put it in just about any room in my house but I really needed a "catch all" bowl right inside the kitchen door. I don't like to have a lot of things on my counters so if I do put something there, it needs to be pretty and functional.
