This has become my favorite series here on my blog! Unless you are brand new to my site, you should know how this goes. I buy three of the same thing, I keep one, and then send two of them to two other bloggers. We all style them in our homes and share them with you. It is my way of introducing you to some of my favorite bloggers and to it shows you how to take one item and use it in different ways.
This month I sent a little something to Shayna from The Wood Grain Cottage and Ashley from Cherished Bliss. I met them both at Haven blog conference and they are both ridiculously talented.
When I told them that the package would be coming from a place called Zoo Med Laboratories through Amazon I think they were more than a little worried. But come on. I can't be the only one who sometimes buys home decor items from the pet store, right? Right?
This month's item was a chunk of Mopani wood (affiliate link). It is normally used in aquariums, hence the pet store. But I loved that is looked so much like driftwood you might find at the beach.
It is a super heavy wood. Even though it stated in the description that it was heavy, I was surprised at how dense it really was. Because of that, I changed my mind about what I was going to do to style it and decided to use it as a bookend.
Remember the Air Plant (affiliate link) from the Styled X3 a couple of months ago? I grabbed it and added it to the top just to see what it looked like. The little dip in the wood was the perfect spot for it!
Don't forget to hop over to Ashley's blog and Shayna's blog to see what they did with their wood!
