Hello!!! I got some super good news yesterday that I get to go somewhere fun with a friend. I have been having some serious winter blues and it gave me a much needed boost :)

I have also been working on a project that is turning out BETTER that I had imagined it. The bad news is I can’t share it for quite awhile since one of the elements is for a company (it is a long story). So I have been BUSY but I can’t share anything so far. I feel like it has been forever since I shared a project on here. I have a couple tutorials left from my family room and a couple new things for my office. So as soon as all my deadlines are met for brands, I will be able to share them with you.

But for now YOU get to share with me :)

Today my monkey #3  turns 6 years old! I can remember when he was born so clearly. It is crazy that my kids are growing so fast. We will have cake and presents tonight and celebrate again on Saturday with a trip to the zoo. My youngest turned 3 year old on Friday.  So we are partying it up here at our house :)

I only have one post to share with you since last week. But if you read it you will understand why. Hopefully after we party tonight we can get back into the DIY swing of things.

Holy cow! I totally spaced getting this party scheduled last. My husband and I were up late discussing whether or not it would be possible to travel to attend his grandma’s funeral in Washington. So my mind was far from the blog. But after waking up and getting the older kids off to school I hopped on to see what y’all had linked up and discovered I dropped the ball.

First of all I want to thank you up and down for your support when I wrote my previous post. Oh my word! Sorry this is so late. I took a few days off from everything and only posted a few things from Facebook via my phone. I completely forgot to get this to schedule automatically. Whoops!

I am so excited for this! One of my favorite activities the ladies at church did was we all sat in a big circle while eating yummy dessert, and told each other about our family traditions. It was so special. I think that no matter what the tradition is, the simple fact that you do it with your family every year brings you close and it creates lasting memories.

Right after I started my blog a couple of years ago I shared my  all time favorite family tradition involving this little fireplace. You can read about it here:http://www.notjustahousewife.net/2010/12/my-favorite-christmas-tradition.html

But like I said before, your traditions do not have to be big things and they don’t need to be something that has happened for generations and generations. One of our little family’s favorite traditions is to watch ELF while snuggled up eating candy canes and popcorn. While we are getting blankets out, bean bags, and everything else ready we quote our favorite parts. I think we laugh harder at that, than we do during the movie :)
