I kind of love imperfection. I like mismatched chairs and mixing wood tones and metals. Because of that, I have found myself loving the hand drawn line trend. It is everywhere from fabrics, wallpaper, furniture and dishes. Whether it is made to took hand drawn, or actually drawn by hand, I like the look!
This nursery is just precious! This is wallpaper but could easily be duplicated by hand if you have enough patience.

This is also wall paper. I have seen videos on facebook where people draw similar patterns and I am mesmerized. I am just as mesmerized looking at this wall.

Julia actually drew these lines on her powder room walls! She used a gold sharpie. I love how it turned out!

When writing my book, I painted my walls multiple colors for different backgrounds. I was sad when I had to cover up the hand drawn gol sharpie lines I drew for this shoot. But it was easy to do and I just might have to recreate it somewhere!
These dishes are adorable and I love the blue color. This would be easy to do if you had the right paint.

The place I have see this trend the most is in textiles. These pillows are not only adorable, but affordable. Or you could pull out your paint brush and DIY one!

This fabric comes from the Nate Berkus line at Joann's Fabric. Of course I am drawn to the blue but the pattern is super fun too.

Speaking of pulling out your paint brush, that is just what Elise from A beautiful Mess did! I love the addition of the tassels :)

I moved to Costa Rica about 17 years ago. Bought a small two bedroom house with grey tile floors. The grout was never sealed! No matter how many times I cleaned it, it looked horrible. One day I used a sharpie, black, and filled in all of the grout lines. To me it is beautiful!
Another day I might tell you about the ceiling light covers I made using chicken wire and drinking straws. I even taught some women how to make them! And I don’t speak Spanish.
Enjoy your information!
