First of all I want to thank all of you who filled out the survey. I have wanted to do one for a long time and I am so glad that I finally did.

This blog would be nothing without all of you and so it is so important to me to make sure that the content that I am putting out there, and the way I am putting it out there is what you guys need and want. Obviously I will ultimately do what I feel in my gut is best for my site, and I can’t please everyone on every point, but I will always listen to YOU. I promise :)

Fist of all a couple of things I found interesting. Most of you who took the survey are coming to my blog through email subscription.  That is awesome. Email subscription has become my favorite way to follow blogs too especially since Facebook is not showing me all of the blogs I have “liked” lately. If you haven’t subscribed, you can do so by putting you email address in the little box at the top of my sidebar under the word “subscribe”.  A few people told me it didn’t work for them recently. Please let me know if you have any issues.

See look! It is right there.

Also, most of you are not bloggers. While I always knew most of you were not, it was interesting to see the break down.

All of you felt like there was a good mix of personal type posts and project type posts. And I was surprised when several of you asked for even more personal stuff. I am such an open book in real life that I often worry I will be too open online and have a TMI moment. I have plenty of those in real life!

A few of you mentioned that you have noticed that I have not had as many projects lately. I actually thought more of you would have pointed that out because it is true. I haven’t. I have not been myself over the past several months. I always struggle in the winter. I joke that I am solar powered. But coming off of the hardest year ever straight into winter plus a whole slew of other challenges (personal and financial) I kind of took a beating. And I struggled for a bit.  Really struggled. I wrote a whole post about it that I never posted. It was more for me. It was like therapy. But I am doing better now. I have been exercising, praying, eating better, using essential oils, and praying some more. And now that it is warming up I will be able to get my fingers in the dirt and do some big building projects :)

So thanks for being patient as I get my groove back. Thanks for sticking with me :)

I also asked you to describe my style. I obviously already know what my style is but I wanted to see if I had done a good job of showing you. I wanted to see what you would say. Here are the most used words:

This made me so happy! You get me! Some of the phrases used were “modern cottage”, “country with a twist”, “updated cottage”, and “eclectic cottage”. I love them all. They totally work.

One of the other things I asked was how you all felt about the “He Said She Said” videos. Most of you like them, some haven’t watched them at all, and a few of you were “meh.” Some of you mentioned the sound was not great. Not surprising since we use an iphone. And a lot of you said it was not easy to watch videos since you work or because your computer has a hard time playing them. Here is the low down on the future of the videos……

  • A new camera is on my list this year and I have one on my list of choices that also records video. I also found and external mic for not very much $$$ so I will hopefully have a better set up soon.
  • I will only post the videos once a month instead of every other week. I will post them on the first Friday since the weekend works better for most of you.
  • If you do not want to watch then feel free to skip them. I love that they are a way to include my husband in what I do. I will work on ways to make them even better :) Thank you for all of your input.
  • I will post video tutorials occasionally but will also post the picture version for those of you who would rather see it that way.

And last but not least, when I asked if there was anything I should change about my blog almost 100% of you said no. You said you loved it as it was. And some of you didn’t stop there. You went on to say some of the most touching comments I have ever read. You lifted me up when I needed it. You made me remember why I started this site. I have been hesitant to do this survey because of the fragile state I have been in the past few months. I didn’t know if I could handle the constructive comments. But you know what? Even the constructive comments made me smile because they were all things that I had already considered. And you just confirmed what I had been thinking. They were very minor things. And you said them with love and kindness.

Thank you. Seriously, thank you. This ended up being more than just a survey :)

The winner of the gift card is Deb Harris. I have already sent her an email :)

Isn’t it amazing that when you (I) judge myself as not measuring up, others are thinking I’m (you’re ) going beyond the ordinary!! It was perfectly planned for you to do this now. I’m a new reader to your blog so I have no past to compare, but I only keep a few around. Yours is one of my favorites because it encompasses so many areas of the not just a housewife part of a woman’s life.

I’ve enjoyed reading your blog for a while now and I’m happy to hear that the kind words from your readers has put back some inspiration!

I wish more people talked about winter sadness. I suffer every year. (and so does my blog.) I’m thankful you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! Wishing you well! – Laurie

I love that you openly admit to having troubles when it was cold. I do to. I joke that I “hibernate” until spring. You are very wonderful at your sweet blogging and I always love your posts. Don’t stress on our behalf but keep your fun posts coming.
