Show Me What Ya Got #60

Last week we were 2 links shy of 500! I have had so much fun hosting this weekly party. I truly have. I am grateful to those of you who link back and add the button to your blog or spread the word some other way. It makes it more fun the more links we have. And almost every week we have new people link up. So fun!!! I can’t wait to see what you have in store this week. I will try to pin more this time. I have not been very good at that these past couple of weeks while I try to get organized here on the home front. You guys are amazing and I thank you for visiting and linking up.

I have been organizing my home, and my blog and I thought that maybe I should organize the linky parties as well. I think I am going to have them split up into categories like food, sewing, DIY or something like that. What do you think? Do you like that idea???

Thanks for hosting each week and I also like it the way it is…

  3. Crystal says:

I like that idea. FJI does that and I like that I can find all the recipes in one section, crafts in another. Thanks for hosting! :)

  4. Gillian says:

Wow almost 500 links, that’s incredible. Thanks for hosting, you are doing a great job, it must take up so much of your time. I quite like the idea of different categories, will be interesting to see what everybody else thinks.

  5. love your party and love your new idea. It’s great for someone who’s just looking for recipes versus crafts.

This week I linked up three recipes that are all so different and yummy: Smoky Tomato Soup with Maple Candied Bacon, Maple Syrup Candy and a yummy recipe for Cranberry Ricotta Pancakes. enjoy

  6. Colleen says:

I think that separating by category’s a great idea! As the party’s growing, it’ll help us find the things that interest us. Thanks for hosting, and for asking our vote!

  7. Linda says:

Personally I love it the way it is. This way you get to see everything and often come across something you maybe wouldn’t think to look at it everything was seperated into categories.
    Thanks for hosting.

    Hi Stacy,
I love the party either way, but I am a big fan of organization. I agree with Linda above as well though, organizing into categories may have people miss things if they don’t keep scrolling. Either way, I’ll keep coming back ;) Thanks for hosting as always!

I love the idea of separating by genre! I am so ADHD and I panic over “What are the rules here? Are we craft only? Decor only? Funny stories? Recipes???”
Thank you for hosting and putting so much thought and care into your party!

I like the idea of splitting things up. I’m obsessed with rearranging and sorting things, so it’s just naturally appealing to me.

  21. Hi! I put up #322 French Macaroons Recipe- perfect as a gift for your Valentine.
Thank you for hosting this great linky!

  22. Alisha says:

    Hi :) Thanks for hosting…

As to your question: I personally do NOT like it when link lists are divided, and here is why:

Inevitably, people link up in the wrong category…then it is disorganized anyway.
When linking up, if he lists are good and long, the browser jumps around and it can be hard to remember what category you are now at the bottom of (especially if other people have linked up wrong so you can’t tell by looking at the entries).
When browsing, I am never on the look out specifically for recipes…but I really like it when on jumps out at me between the craft and DIY projects I am looking at.

So those are just my thoughts, for what it is worth….

  23. Carrie says:

I like all the categories together. One week I might be interested in recipes and the next week I may have moved on to crafts. It’s nice to see it all in one place.

  24. KAT says:

    Yea Happy Tuesday !
    I am number 399
    that’s a pretty good number I’d say.
I think you will top 500 this week.
    Love your blog Stacy !

  25. Shannon says:

I think it’d be nice to have the categories separated. That way if I want a recipe, I can go straight to that section.

  26. Hope you top the 500 mark!! Thanks for hosting!!

  27. Wow Stacy , this is a big party! Thanks for letting me link up with you.

You’re the perfect hostess! BTW, your polka dot hallway is poping up everywhere and I just love it!

  31. Debra says:

Thanks Stacy, for hosting. Love to see what everyone is up to!

  32. Loy says:

I link to parties where the links are both intermingled and categorized. I have no preference of one over the other. One thing I see with the categorized parties is someone always gets their link in the wrong category (a recipe in the crafts section, for instance) I don’t know if that makes more work for the hostess or not. I love the name of your party and the diversity. Although I am a food blogger, I love to see the crafts, home decor, and printable ideas. I am late this week, due to down internet connection. I brought Chocolate Ripple No-Machine Ice Cream. How exciting it must be to get some many link-ups. Thanks for hosting each week.

  33. Molly says:

Great ideas via these links….thanks for hosting this!!

  34. Jill says:

Thanks so much for hosting ! With that many links, I think it would be great to put it into categories!
    Have a great week!

  35. Aimee J says:

Stacey, thank you for hosting!! Personally, I like the idea of categories but I’m worried it would require ALOT of work to get the bugs worked out.

Can my blog be like your blog when it grows up? You’re such an inspiration to me!!!

  36. CAS says:
