It makes me feel bad when I get emails asking how I do it all, or how is my house always tidy. When I look at the mess that is my house I feel like I am keeping a dirty secret. I am not trying to, mind you. I have no intention of anyone thinking I am a super human clean freak. I think that was pretty obvious in my The Dark Side of Blogging post. But it is good to have a reality check every now and then.I use to have it together. I did. I was pretty good about keeping a schedule. And my house was clean MOST of the time. But then I had my 4th child. And having 4 all of a sudden kicked my trash. I rebounded a little for awhile but then I started my blog. I guess you could say it is my 5th child. I had no idea how it would grow into a business.
Like every other mom I struggle with balancing my work, kids, homework, church callings, helping at the school, dinner, canning every flippin’ thing from my garden, projects, ball games, laundry, cleaning, and EVERYTHING THING ELSE.
And then you add sick kids to the mix and this is what you get:
It has been quite crazy at our house the past week and a half. We started with a cold (head ache, body ache, and cough) and once everyone had had a turn with that we decided to started rotating through the stomach flu. And all through it I have been working on projects. A) Because that keeps me sane. And caring for sick kids makes me need “me” time even more. B) The house is already trashed so why not? C) I just really want them done already! It is driving me crazy having half done projects strewn all over the house.
I will have a project for you tomorrow. And more next week. I just desperately want my office done. I didn’t realize how much we ALL use it until it was torn apart.
So here’s to getting it together….Life, and my office :)
